Looking Toward the Convention

For John, BLUFIt just gets better and better.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From PJ Media, Ms Bridget Johnson gives us "Cruz Predicts 'Manifest Revolt Across This Country' If Brokered Convention".

Senator Ted Cruz spoke at CPAC yesterday.  The venue was National Harbor, in Oxon Hill, Maryland.  If you are driving north on I-95, as you cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge over the Potomac, and you glance to the right, you can see it rising up on the left shore of the river.  Pretty nice venue.

By the way, Candidate Donald Trump dropped out at the last minute.

Here is the lede:

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. -- Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) pleaded for other candidates' supporters to coalesce behind his presidential campaign and promised "manifest revolt" would occur if the GOP nomination came out of a brokered convention.
But, the meat of the talk is covered in the last three paragraphs of the article.
Cruz strongly opposed a brokered convention, insisting talk of a nominiation pushed to a second vote is the product of "fevered frenzy" from the establishment to anoint "all of their golden children the voters keep rejecting."

"We will have a manifest revolt on our hands all across this country if there is a brokered convention," Cruz predicted.

"If you want to beat Donald Trump, here's how you do it -- you beat Donald Trump with the voters."

Then there is this headline this morning from The Old Gray Lady, "Rank and File Republicans Tell Party Elites:  We’re Sticking With Donald Trump".  When the newspaper of record notices, no, trumpets, a bit of news from the Republican Grass Roots you know that something is happening.

The article lede:

From Michigan to Louisiana to California on Friday, rank-and-file Republicans expressed mystification, dismissal and contempt regarding the instructions that their party’s most high-profile leaders were urgently handing down to them: Reject and defeat Donald J. Trump.
You are darn tootin'.

Hat tip to the InstaPundit.

As some have commented, not a "brokered" convention, but a "contested "convention.  The "brokers" of old are now a memory, but the chance of an open convention after the first round of voting, when the delegates are no longer committed to who we voted for in the first half of the year is a possibility.
Conservative Political Action Conference, an annual event.
Why do we name things after known racists?  We are all hot to erase other signs of racism from our past.
