The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Thoughts on SOTU

For John, BLUFSmooth talker.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Reporter Rob Mills of The [Lowell] Sun gave us the comments of politicians around the area on the President's State of the Union speech.  The Headline is "Legislators applaud Obama's call for action on drugs, see missed opportunities".

My comments on the President's State of the Union Message are tucked between those of Rep Seth Mouton and Senator E Warren.

Cliff Krieger, chairman of the Lowell Republican City Committee, had both praise and criticism for Obama, but was especially taken by South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's Republican response.

"I think she knocked it out of the ballpark," Krieger said.  "I thought she captured my view of the president's speech, which was that he gave us a lot of good positive ideas and thoughts, but the execution over the last seven years has not always been there."

Krieger said he thinks the president should more forcefully speak about terrorism and call acts such as the mass shootings at Ford Hood and in San Bernadino terrorist acts.

"A lot of people just think it's being brushed to the side and I think that works against his goal of not having terrorism be blown out of proportion," Krieger said.  "I don't think he did anything to fix that problem tonight."

And mention of the Republican Response by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.  I like Nikki Haley, although she talks funny, but then she grew up in the South.  Her presentation was great.
