The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

An Alternate View

For John, BLUFWe are not yet having a real conversation on race in our Great Nation.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Yesterday, in The Washington Examiner, Columnist Gregory Kane wrote "Why Carol Swain demands honesty about Trayvon Martin".

Ms Carol Swain is a Law Professor at Vanderbilt University.  Her Facebook post was copied into the column, which I copy here:

Trayvon Martin's mother is missing an opportunity to lead a social movement.  America needs a conversation about the unfortunate plight of thousands of young black men who have adopted unhealthy lifestyles.

High unemployment, black-on-black crime, and hopelessness are factors that must be addressed.  Individual choices and wrong internalized messages have led to the devaluation of human life in the black community at every stage of development.

The devaluation in human life is reflected in our abortion rates and the willingness to accept high black-on-black murder rates. We can do better!

This is an alternative view on the conversation on race that our Attorney General, Eric Holder, says we should be having.

Put another way, we, as a nation, can not afford to have a large segment of our population not moving forward.  We need those talents on production lines, on drafting tables, in research labs and operating in hospitals.  We are experiencing a national tragedy and allowing the discussion to be narrowly defined is counterproductive.

Thank you to Professor Swain and to Columnist Kane.
