Arrests and a Birth in New York City

For John, BLUFThe question is, are we going to see a revival of "Extremist" Terrorism in the US?  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Here is the New York Post version about a woman giving birth while on break from terrorism.

This Dalton School grad was too busy giving birth to be charged with stashing an arsenal of explosives and guns in her posh Greenwich Village pad.

The arraignment of 27-year-old Morgan Gliedman, the privileged daughter of a top city doctor, was postponed yesterday as she delivered a girl at St. Luke’s Hospital, sources said.

The arrival of baby Melody capped a roller-coaster 48 hours that began with Gliedman’s arrest Saturday along with her Harvard-grad boyfriend, Aaron Greene, 31, in their West Ninth Street apartment.

Here is an earlier version of the story.

So, what we know is:

  1. This is New York City,
  2. Which has the toughest gun control laws, including the RACIST Sullivan Act,
  3. And a huge police force (over 35,000 police),
  4. And the best Counter-Terrorism Center in the United States,
  5. And this was almost deja view all over again.  In fact, at Powerline that point was made by Mr John Hinderaker.
  6. Perhaps only due to the good fortune of Ms Gliedman having to give birth, we might have repeated a terrorist event in New York,
  7. And perhaps even a Tupamaros like urban guerrilla campaign.
The last item actually depends upon how good Ms Morgan Gliedman and her boyfriend, Mr Aaron Greene, were.  Did Bill Ayers and his friends crash and burn because they were unlucky or incompetent?  General Curtis LaMay would say it doesn't matter.

But, when terrorists are seconds away, there is some comfort in knowing that the police are minutes away.

The question for all of us focuses on if this was a one-off event or if the political tensions in the nation are leading certain groups to prepare for war.  That would not be a good thing for anyone.

PS:  This was not from the Tea Party Faction, best I can tell.
