The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Banned in Rostov-on-Don

For John, BLUFIf they ban Jesus Christ Superstar in Russia, will they eventually ban it in Ottawa, Iowa?  Nothing to see; just move along.

France 24, linked to by The Drudge Report, is telling us "Russian theatre shelves 'offensive' 'Jesus Christ Superstar'" production.  Here is the lede:

A theatre in southern Russia has stopped selling tickets to the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" after prosecutors launched a probe into whether it is offensive to devout Christians, officials said.
When the US Federal Government backs off its support of Free Speech there is no one left to provide the needed defense.  It is part of American Exceptionalism.

What will The limit be?  Will Jesus Christ Superstar be banned in parts of the US?  Before you say "ridiculous", ask yourself if there might be people out there, not in your circle of friends, who might be so offended.  Maybe some of the several million Muslims living in the US.

This is aside from the fact that blaming Innocence of Muslims for activities in Egypt and Libya is a false narrative, a narrative that will wrongly inform our foreign policy decisions.  It is my belief that if we don't defend our own culture, those overseas will lose respect for us.  We shouldn't try to impose our way of life on others, but we should stand behind our own culture.
