The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Europe is Different

Over at Yahoo News is an article on the changing of the guard on the French "Right"—the National Front.  Ms Marine Le Pen, succeeding her Father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, is seen as more photogenic and less confrontational.

Here is a late Sunday report from the International Herald Tribune.

The thing I don't understand is this idea that the Party is of the right.  In one paragraph we have this analysis of the new leader's views
and urging tighter state control of the economy
Tighter state control?  How is that "right wing"?  Europe is different.

The other possibility is that the terms Left and Right are less than useful.  But, then what would we do?  No, we are stuck with the divisions in the Versailles Tennis Court, 212 years ago.
